The reasons why people prefer the holistic approach at the Sanctuary Tulum:

People from all walks of life have sought the powerful life-changing transformations and seen the wonderful results leading them to spread the word. Besides medication abuse rehabilitation, the groundbreaking treatments have put an end to the suffering of many clients who have previously had to live life with the debilitating symptoms of Lyme disease, MS, and Autoimmune diseases. People with Autism, Aspergers, and Lupus have also felt the effectiveness of the holistic approach of the clinic.

The approach is to not use any toxic medications but a combination of super foods, natural medications with origins from the ancient and sacred worlds, and advanced therapies that include stem cell, DNA and RNA repair, and Cryotherapy, to name but a few, in a protocol known as the Pouyan Method.

How were the treatments created?

The founder of the Holistic Sanctuary, Johnny Tabaie, created the Pouyan Method out of sheer desperation to save himself from certain death. Having tried many different types of rehabilitation centers, all using methods that involved taking toxic medications and talk therapy, he realized he was getting no-where and he was having terrible side-effects.

Since no two people are the same, Johnny decided that the best way was to look at each case individually and to then prescribe the right combination of holistic, sacred and modern alternative medicines according to what is to be treated.

Johnny has been clean and healthy for 12 years now and the last 9 of these he has dedicated to helping cure a thousand people to date.

Getting started

Evert patient who decides that the time has come to seek help can choose a therapy package. For those that are confused, the well-trained staff is there to help with the choice. Before beginning with the proprietary treatments at the clinic, all clients have to have a series of blood and liver tests, as well as a complete cardiology checkup, EKG and ECG. This is done by the in-house ER doctor and the well trained and tactful nursing staff. This step is essential for getting the clearance for the advanced treatments and the ancient plant medicine ceremonies.

The treatments and how they work

Complete healing comes from combining the strengths of the body, spirit, and mind. That is why a daily massage program is followed by yoga and meditation courses. The therapies include Reiki, pure oxygen HBOT sessions, Cryotherapy, and a daily NAD, Myers and vitamin therapy IV. There are protocols to help renew and repair the DNA, Mitchondria, and liver. Various different Stem Cell IVs are performed and the pineal gland is de-calcified. Cellular detoxification and a Candida and parasite cleanse help kick start the immune system.

The Sanctuary Tulum only allows the use of sacred medications and Ibogaine is used instead of prescription medication. All patients are put on an organic, plant-based diet with no GMOs, soy or gluten. Power protein shakes are included and the diet helps enhance the effectiveness of the treatments.

The body cannot be completely cleansed without the inclusion of the rejuvenating Dead Sea baths and Carbon Infrared sessions.

The importance of spiritual healing is never neglected and everyone attends sessions of Spiritual Awakening, Outer Body Experience God Molecule Activation (DMT) and Chakra Balancing.

Sanctuary Tulum is set on the east coast of Mexico and clients are given the rich experience of a luxurious stay, the undivided attention of the nursing staff at the fantastic facilities; the daily sessions of treatments and meditations and also have time to pursue other facilities offered in the area.

Before & After

What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is any form of treatment based on the application of cold temperature. It can be delivered locally (through ice packs, ice massage, etc.) or to the whole body. In full-body cryotherapy, the person stands in an enclosed chamber or a small enclosure with an opening for the head while they wear underwear, socks and gloves. The body is exposed to between -160F and -220F (-110°C and -140°C) for 2 to 4 minutes. One session can be beneficial but cryotherapy is more effective if it is used regularly. Cryotherapy is becoming more and more popular because of its many health benefits. Research is still ongoing because doctors who use cryotherapy do not fully understand all its benefits and risks.

During full-body cryotherapy, the basic change in the body is reduction of tissue temperature which leads to reduction in core body temperature. The shock activates the autonomic nervous system which manifests as varied heart rates, increased blood pressure and increased levels of norepinephrine. During treatment the blood vessels shrink and reduce blood flow to inflamed areas. Once treatment is over, the blood vessels expand and there is an increased level of anti-inflammatory proteins.

The Benefits of Cryotherapy

1. Reduces Inflammation

Elite athletes use cryotherapy to reduce inflammation and to decrease acute and chronic pain. Cryotherapy triggers release of anti-inflammatory norepinephrine and makes physical therapy more tolerable. It reduces inflammation while stressing the body enough to keep body cells on their toes. In a controlled laboratory study, 12 tennis players followed a moderate training program and a sub-group of athletes were treated with 5 days of whole body cryostimulation. The researchers reported a reduction in inflammatory proteins (tumor necrosis factor α) and improvements in tennis strokes amongst the cryotherapy group.

2. Numbs Nerves

Cryotherapy can numb pain by numbing irritated nerves. This is useful for pinched nerves, chronic pain and even for acute injuries.

3. Migraine Relief

Cryotherapy reduces migraine symptoms by cooling and numbing nerves in the neck area. In one study, applying an ice pack to the carotid artery (which is very close to the surface) greatly reduced migraine pain in the study participants. It is suspected that this treatment works by cooling the blood passing through the intracranial blood vessels.

4. Treats Low-risk Tumors

Local cryotherapy is being used to freeze and kill tumors in a procedure called cryosurgery. It works for abnormal cells in the cervical, skin, prostate and other low-risk cancers.

5. Exercise Recovery

Whole-body Cryotherapy is commonly used in sports medicine for muscle recovery and pain relief after performance. Some athletes do it twice a day. Others will do it once daily for 10 days and then once a month after that. The physical stress from the low temperature induces an adaptive response from the body and strengthens the immune system by increasing production of white blood cells and immune cells. During exercise the muscles become engorged with blood as a pro-inflammatory response. After cryotherapy anti-inflammatory cytokines arrive to keep the immune system in check. This process of inflammation, tissue repair and anti-inflammatory factors ensures that athletes recover optimally.

In one study, athletes who went through cryotherapy performed better in an exercise test which is a sign of faster muscle regeneration. Other effects of cryotherapy were decreased heart rate and increased blood-oxygen levels in the thighs. Another study compared athletes who went through the cryotherapy chamber to athletes who went through infrared and others who went through passive methods. Cryotherapy provided better muscle recovery after high-endurance exercise than infrared and passive methods.

6. Reduces Arthritic Pain

Cryotherapy is quite useful for the relief of chronic pain in the joints and muscles. In one study involving people with rheumatoid diseases, whole-body cryotherapy was well tolerated and it greatly reduced pain. It also enabled the patients to undergo more aggressive occupational and physical therapies, making rehabilitation more effective. Another study involving patients with ankylosing spondylitis compared the people who underwent cryotherapy followed by physical therapy to people who underwent physical therapy only. There was significant improvement in mobility and health in patients who received a combination of cryotherapy and physiotherapy.

7. Treats Atopic Dermatitis and other Skin Conditions

Corticosteroids are normally used to treat atopic dermatitis. For cases where corticosteroids do not work, phototherapy is used. Unfortunately, exposure to UV light causes cancer. Now localized and whole-bodycryotherapy is being used since it can reduce inflammation and improve antioxidant levels in the blood. In one study involving adults with atopic dermatitis, whole body cryotherapy (used alone) was found to be effective. Cryotherapy is also effective for other skin conditions.

8. May Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

It has been proposed that whole-body cryotherapy may help to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. The scientists who made this proposal have theorized that cryotherapy’s anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects can fight off the oxidative and inflammatory responses that accompany these diseases.

9. Treats Mood Disorders

The very low temperatures in whole body cryotherapy cause hormonal changes that include the release of endorphins, adrenaline and noradrenaline. The result can be a better mood for people experiencing anxiety and depression.

10. Reduces Pain

Cryotherapy reduces pain by reducing inflammation, improving antioxidant balance and increasing release of beta-endorphins. One study split a group of 80 men with chronic back pain into 2 groups. Group A received cryotherapy twice per week over 3 months and Group B received it daily for 3 months. There was no notable change in Group A but significant condition improvement in Group B. This proved that consistent cryotherapy leads to significant pain reduction in lower back pain.

11. Treats MS Symptoms

In multiple sclerosis patients cryotherapy was found to improve functional status, fatigue levels, patients’ ability to exercise and duration of activity.

12. Relieves Many Other Problems

Cryotherapy has been utilized to relieve frozen shoulder, a painful condition that limits shoulder mobility. It is being used by some for weight loss because the sudden reduction in temperature increases metabolism as the body seeks to heat itself up. By increasing white blood cell count, it boosts the immune system. There are studies in the use of cryotherapy in fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, hearing loss and tinnitus all of which have come up with positive results.

Risks of Cryotherapy

The only side effects reported are tingling, numbness, redness, and irritation of the skin which normally resolve within 24 hours. However, people with diabetes and other conditions that affect nerves should stay away from cryotherapy as it may lead to further damage. Children, pregnant women and people with severe hypertension and heart patients should also avoid cryotherapy.
